The New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham has $40 million reasons why he should be smiling from ear to ear. He was the NFL's #1 tight end when it comes to receiving yards in 2013, and he has finally completed his contract negotiations. The Saints will sign him to a 4 year, $40 million dollar deal that guarantees him $21 million making him the highest paid tight end in the NFL.
Recently Graham challenged the New Orleans Saints for tagging him as a tight end because he feels that he plays most of his snaps as a wide receiver. He would later lose that challenge when Stephen Burbank (Arbitrator) ruled against his his wide receiver tag request. By losing this ruling it's possibly costing him upwards of $5 million dollars due to the fact that some tight ends are guaranteed $7 million dollars, while some receivers can be guaranteed around $12 million (either way the money is still great).
So whether he lines up at the line of scrimmage as a receiver, or a tight end I'm sure that Drew Brees is ecstatic that his #1 Saints receiving yards teammate will be returning to the team this year.
