Pittsburgh Pirates Come Up Empty Handed In Wild card Game

After finishing the regular season with a .543 percentage (88-74) The Pittsburgh Pirates go home empty handed after failing to beat the San Francisco Giants in the National League wild card game with a shutout score of 8-0.

The Pirates failed to score a single run during the game which left fans severely dissapointed in their performance. The Pirates only managed to get a total of 4 hits the entire game. One of their star players Andrew McCutchen didn't play that well either. With 1 strikeout, 1 walk, and no stolen bases it appeared that it just wasn't his night.

The San Francisco Giants really took it to the Pirates proving that they wanted it more. Short Stop Brandon Crawford let it be known that he was all about business. At the top of the fourth inning he hit a grand slam homerun which allowed Sandoval, Pence, and Belt to score. which gave the Giants a early 4-0 lead.

Giants Pitcher Madison Bumgarner did a great job too. Pitching all nine innings for the Giants he had a total of 10 Strikeouts.

After some pretty good performances during the regular season it looks like the Pirate fans are going to have to wait til next year to get another chance at the playoffs.
